Family fun and sporty speed don't need to end where the pavement does. In 2005, Deyeme Racing purchased
a new Kawasaki Jet Ski STX-15f runabout, so when we weren't at the races, we could have fun and show off DMR
engineering in a whole new way. Fast forward to 2011. We may have outgrown the PWC with the addition
of two little ones, but we certainly haven't outgrown the need for fun in the sun! Looking around for a
replacement for the Jet Ski, the best match was made with Sea·Doo's Speedster 150 model. We were able
to find a brand new 2010 model at a discounted price from a nice little dealership down in southern Missouri.
The '05 Kawasaki still had a lot of life left in it, so we sold it directly, and purchased the Speedster as its replacement.
![]() The Speedster 150 is about as close as you can get to a Jet Ski and still have something with a floor and seats. Its supercharged 1.5L inline-3 engine makes over 250hp, combining blinding accelleration with incredible agility. Not only does it have more seating room, but more storage room as well, making it far more practical, while sacraficing none of the fun factor of a personal watercraft. ![]() Our plan for lil Red Express is family fun and practicality on the water. That means a tow pylon, brackets to hold fishing gear, a stereo with built-in MP3 capability, new graphics, alternative energy for long days, and enhanced lighting for long nights. Performance is already more than adequate, so performance modifications will be tied to maintenance, and the focus will be on durability. ![]() |
